Bilha
September 15, 2026
THE CHALLENGE: At 14, opportunities for girls to play organised football in Highrise, Kibera, were rare. Cultural expectations and daily pressures meant many talented young women never got a fair chance.
THE JOURNEY: SAA created that space for Bilha. At 14, she found in football not just a game but a framework for life: discipline, patience, teamwork, and resilience. Her coaches recognised her leadership instinct early and invested in developing it — on the pitch and in the classroom.
THE TRANSFORMATION: Bilha is now the captain and starting midfielder of SAA’s U15 Girls’ Football team. She leads with composure, motivates her teammates with encouragement, and resolves conflict with a maturity that belies her age.
Your gift: A gift of $250 covers one leadership training session for SAA’s girls’ programmes.
